MYSPACE RECOMMENDED LISTENING

Some while back, I made a point of not reviewing bands and artists songs on myspace, simply because if I started down that trail, I'd never stop and, for me, there just aren't enough hours in a day. So, to that end, I'll review anything that the bands send or give to me on CD or CDR. Now I know this makes me sound like some kind of musical luddite, but, trust me, it's practical and it works.
HOWEVER.........there are an awful lot of great tracks lurking out there on myspace that I haven't reviewed and it would be criminal not to draw your attention to them.

What I've decided is to do a monthly listing of tracks which have NOT been reviewed as CD's on the main CD review site. So, this listing, linked to the website where you can hear the track, will simply be the favourite Dead Earnest tracks by bands and artists, from Dundee AND elsewhere in Scotland (+2!!!), featured on this website, for the month concerned. They are in order of our level of enjoyment and the amount of times we've played the blessed things, and are simply tracks that we adore here at Dead Earnest Central - I only hope you do too...........

The above idea is running aground at a rate of knots as I find myself repeating things more often than I'd planned. SO.........
the next step in telling about the best new tracks on myspace, will simply be to list exactly that - no order, no category - just fantastic tracks. So, we start with March................god bless all who sail in her!

NOVEMBER 2008:
Guess what? Yeh - I lost this idea entireloy when I started to go back into doing Dead Earnest concert promotions in addition to already taking on the Mermaid Rock concert promotions, and the resultant lack of time, just prohibited me from keeping this section going. Of course, it's only now that I realise the complete and uter pointlessness of rthe section as regards an archive, 'coz of course, half the songs I pointed you towards, aren't there anymore. So, this bit may get abandoned in favour of some other half-baked idea before too long - you just never can tell!! Watch this space - well, come back in a couple of months, anyway.......
