Nov 2011:
I originally set up the label to release one CD and one CD only - the first Krel CD - but the bug bit me and I ended up putting ten out!! Some sold well, a couple died horrible deaths, but I'm proud of all of them in different ways.
What you read below was the final chapter of the tale - before Hennisi and Leather Zoo borrowed the name for their respective CD album releases, and I collaborated with Nash The Slash to come up with the concept and tracklist for his 30 year retrospective album - left as it was written, purely for historical purposes and because it truly was the end point for the label.
The Dead Earnest name's origin stretches as far back as 1407 when a group of trappist monks were exiled on the Orkney Isles. One of their number was "Earnest the Edible" (the olde middle ages spelling of Earnest), so-called, since, due to a rare genetic disorder, he had carrots growing from the top of his head instead of the fiery red hair that he was born with, a blessing to the other monks, but a curse to poor Earnest. This, of course, is where the slang term "carrot top" emanates, for anyone with red hair. Because of this, the monks received food in an otherwise desolate place. Sadly, Earnest passed away and, in his honour, the monks would hand down songs, from generation to generation, in honour of the most unique of all their kind - Dead Earnest! We are so pleased to be able to be carrying on this unique tradition in modern times!! (and if you believe this.....well.....maybe it really is true....)

Also out on the "USA arm" of the label, is the new album by Secret Saucer musician, Greg Kozlowski. Released under the name of Antrilon, it's an instrumental cosmic electronic album that's very much a homage to the pioneers of the Krautrock early seventies while at the same time being unique and innovative in its own right.
