DUNDEE LIVE - BANDS TO WATCH!!

THE 123'S - Higher CD-Single

On the new Box label – famous Glasgow music venue – comes the official debut single from Glasgow's 123's – and it's an absolute belter, easily the best thing they've done to date. It's a rousing slice of driving punk that's got more hook than a fisherman's basket, is catchy, memorable, solid and the sort of song that you just want to play and play – in the car on the open road, in the house with the windows as wide as possible to annoy the farthest neighbours, or in the club to leap around like a dervish. The production is fantastic, the guitars both sharp and huge, riffing and soloing with electrifying intensity, while the rhythm section powers ahead as the gruff and emotive vocaslist really delivers a song that hearkens back to the days of The Stranglers, Generation X and Dr Feelgood. It's got an irresistible appeal to 30 years of punk fans with an ear for something that's as musically satisfying as it is commercially attractive. This should be played on every radio station the length and breadth of the UK – a true breath of fresh punk air!
